Modern or Classical? Choosing a Decor Direction for Your Home

Guides · 13 August 2026 · 5 min read

Most rooms that feel wrong are not badly furnished — they are undecided. Choosing a direction first makes every later purchase easier.

Classical luxury

Warm metals, crystal, figurative forms and symmetry. Suited to traditional drawing rooms with heavier textiles.

Anchor pieces: Aurora crystal floor lamp, Aphrodite black bust with a crystal floral accent, Colibri hummingbird.

Modern minimal

Chrome, matte stone, abstract geometry and asymmetry. Suited to newer apartments with clean plaster and large windows.

Anchor pieces: Orbit chrome globe floor lamp, Emerald Horizon, the ARRA table.

Mixing the two

It works when one direction clearly leads — roughly 80/20. A single classical bronze in a minimal room becomes the focal point; scatter both styles evenly and neither registers.

Start with one room

Commit the drawing room first, then let adjacent spaces echo the same metal. Browse by sculptures, tables, table lamps and floor lamps.
